Welcome to the Blackboard e-Education platform—designed to enable educational innovations everywhere by connecting people and technology.
Please be aware that the application process to the PTA Program has changed. If you plan to apply for Spring 2016 PTA Program, please review the below information regarding the application process.
Students applying to the PTA program must submit a 2016 PTA application. If you have previously submitted an application that does not indicate Spring 2016 at the top of the form, you will need to resubmit the updated form when you submit your volunteer hours. The Spring 2016 application is attached to this e-mail.
Effective immediately, students are required to complete their volunteer hours in at least two physical therapy settings (out-patient, acute care, skilled nursing facility, etc.), each with a different licensed PT or PTA. Home Health volunteer hours will no longer be accepted. A minimum of 40 volunteer hours is required to apply to the program; however, applicants may choose to complete up to 80 volunteer hours. Applicants may choose how their volunteer hours are divided between the two settings. All volunteer hours should be completed on the program’s volunteer reference form and submitted in a signed and sealed single envelope from each setting. The volunteer form is attached to this e-mail.
Students must have an overall GPA of at least 2.75 for all college-level work.
*** Application materials including the program application and documentation of all completed volunteer hours must be submitted to the PTA Program by the student in a single envelope. Materials submitted separately as well as faxed or e-mailed material will not be accepted. Application materials may be hand delivered or mailed to the PTA Program and must be received on or before 4pm on October 30th to be considered for Spring 2016. Students are not permitted to submit application materials to any other New River office.
